Toffee Brickle Bars for the Holidays from Anne

Here is a quick and easy sweet treat that is addictive and everyone will love. A recipe that can be altered by using different toppings and chocolate great for everyone on your holiday list!  Yum, Yum. You will find the recipe below.

Toffee Brickle Bars

1 1/2 pkgs saltine crackers
1 C packed light Brown sugar
1 C butter
12 oz bag bitter sweet choc chips
1 C finely chopped almonds or
Crushed candy canes

Cover bottom of all parts of cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place crackers side by side but not over lapping and set aside.

Melt butter in pan, add Brown sugar and melt. Bring to rolling boil. Boil exactly 3 minutes stirring often.
Remove from heat and pour immediately over crackers. Distribute evenly. Bake in 400 degree oven for 5 minutes. Check occasionally. Sprinkle with chocolate chips over crackers. After a few minutes spread evenly over entire pan of crackers including sides.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours in the pan. Remove foil and break crackers to desired size with hands-do not cut.
Store in refrigerator in a plastic container with tight lid.

Can also use white chocolate with peppermint pieces.
